Strategic Hub Development Manager – Music Service | 10665 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £50,166 to £54,277 per annum | Grade L | Countywide

Norfolk County Council acts as the lead organisation for Norfolk & Suffolk Music Hub: a partnership of organisations, coming together to provide the best possible music education for the children and young people of Norfolk & Suffolk.

There is a real appetite to continue to expand our partnership delivery model creating opportunities to further develop our core offer and overarching programme of activity underpinned by our Local Plan for Music Education. We need to continue to facilitate high quality teaching and learning and demonstrate excellent value for money whilst improving upon the breadth of offer and forging lasting relationships with schools, partners and stakeholders.

The Music Service has undergone a significant realignment to help further embed Hub activity in day-to-day operations. The structure supports improved communication with schools, stakeholders and partners, offers a more diverse and relevant offer in localities and integrates a commitment to Music Hub delivery and partnership working within the organisation.

The post of Hub Manager is integral to our strategy moving forward and plays a key role in our team supporting our continued commitment to raise the profile of both the Music Service and the Music Hub across the region and beyond.

Under the direction of the Head of Service, the main duties of the post include:

  • To lead the development of Norfolk & Suffolk Music Hub ensuring the aims and objectives of our Local Plan for Music Education are delivered
  • To enhance, develop and form partnerships to enable the Hub to further evolve for the benefit of the Children and Young People of Norfolk & Suffolk
  • To directly line manage 10 FTE Music Tutors working in schools across the county
  • To oversee and evaluate Hub Partner Delivery and be the overall point of contact for the Norfolk & Suffolk Music Hub
  • To raise aspirations, create confidence and provide opportunity for all Children and Young People throughout the region.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
