Strategic Initiatives Manager (Defence-Related Skills)

This part-time post is available immediately on a part-time basis (0.5 FTE) until 31st August 2031. Applications for secondments will be considered subject to agreement from your current line manager.

Salary will be from £50,253 per annum pro rata on Grade G subject to knowledge, skills and experience.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

This role may be subject to additional background screening, and it is a requirement to maintain an appropriate level of National Security Clearance.

The Strategic Initiatives manager is a key member of the department, working very closely with the Directors of Education and Student Experience, Heads of Department, and other key members of the Department Leadership Teams (DLT) across Computer Science and Engineering. Their role will be to help develop strategic and operational plans while ensuring the day-to-day delivery of operations in relation to the new defence related programmes being launched across the departments, as a result of the £6.4m funding from the OfS. A significant part of the role is building and sustaining relationships with external industry and employer partners, working alongside Exeter Innovation to ensure a coordinated approach where partner relationships are already managed centrally for the institution. They will also work closely with other Faculty staff across both the Professional Services and Academic spheres.
