Role: Strategic Innovation Manager – Strategy, Innovation & Partnerships (SIP), Digital & Data Solutions (D&DS)

Digital & Data Solutions (D&DS) offers a mission-critical, domain-driven digital business that empowers the energy transition through:

Within D&DS, the Strategy, Innovation & Partnerships (SIP) unit drives growth via: Market insight → Innovation execution → Ecosystem expansion leveraging a build–buy–partner approach.

As a Strategic Innovation Manager, your work will be outward-facing, bridging customers, markets, and innovation – strategically shaping a pipeline focus on actionable opportunities.

  • Secure and shape a pipeline of customer-anchored innovation opportunities.
  • Translate real-world signals into strategic opportunity spaces.
  • Enforce evidence-based decisions for a dynamic growth posture aligned with internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer & Opportunity Pipeline

  • Identify, originate, and advance innovation

    • Build a pipeline of customer-focused innovation opportunities.
    • Design constructive perspectives while ensuring experiments will be supported by relevant users.
    • Act as an innovation ambassador—develop long-term, trust-based customer relationships that support experimentation.
  • Translate market signals into actionable insights

    • Continuously scan industry trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies.
    • Define high-value opportunity spaces aligned with D&DS strategic plans and customer needs.

2. Strategy and Growth Alignment

  • Ground strategy in market evidence

    • Convert insights from markets/customers into actionable strategic input, feeding continuous evolution of D&DS strategy.
  • Prioritise customer-driven innovation

    • Collaborate with internal innovation labs and business lines to:
      • Ensure experiments are anchored in real-world use cases.
      • Clarify commercial intent and potential scaling paths.

3. Growth Strategy Implementation

  • Facilitate build–buy–partner decisions

    • Evaluate where D&DS should build internally vs. accelerate economically via external partners.
    • Advise with a balanced evidence-based pathway to align with growth objectives.
  • Scout and evaluate partnerships

    • Identify and screen potential partners, technologies, and M&A targets to support inorganic and organic growth.
