Chief of Staff / Strategic Operations Lead
Location: Hybrid / Bristol
Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum + benefits
We’re supporting a growing global digital health and technology business that partners with organisations across healthcare, life sciences, pharma and biotech to build AI and data-driven products that solve real-world challenges.
They are now looking for a Chief of Staff / Strategic Operations Lead to work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team. This is not an EA or admin-led Chief of Staff role. It is a hands-on strategic operations position for someone who can bring structure, pace and accountability across a fast-moving business.
The right person will help turn business priorities into clear action, unblock stalled initiatives, improve operating rhythm and make sure key decisions turn into measurable outcomes.
The Role
You’ll work across areas such as growth, recruitment, account management, delivery, product and internal operations. You’ll support the CEO and leadership team by creating clarity around priorities, ownership, milestones and follow-through. This would suit someone who enjoys stepping into ambiguity, diagnosing where things are stuck and helping a leadership team move faster.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Helping the CEO translate strategic ideas into clear objectives, owners, milestones and decision points
- Reducing operational drag by identifying what can be delegated, redesigned or simplified
- Supporting prioritisation across competing business initiatives
- Owning leadership meeting follow-up and ensuring actions have clear owners and deadlines
- Taking ownership of cross-functional projects that need structure, momentum and follow-through
- Diagnosing why projects are stuck, whether due to capacity, ownership, dependencies or shifting priorities
- Building simple operating rhythms, trackers and review processes to improve visibility and accountability
- Supporting growth, recruitment, delivery, product and internal initiatives by identifying risks and next steps

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
