Position Summary
The Strategic Partner Manager owns the development and growth of partnerships that generate new business opportunities and expand SmartHRCheqs' market presence. This role identifies, recruits, enables, and manages HR technology providers, ATS companies, payroll platforms, staffing technology firms, consultants, professional associations, and referral partners.
The ideal candidate is a results-driven business development professional with a record of creating revenue-producing alliances, managing complex partner relationships, and executing joint go-to-market initiatives. Success requires strong relationship-building skills, strategic judgment, disciplined follow-through, and the ability to convert partnerships into measurable pipeline and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Partner Development & Recruitment
- Identify and recruit strategic technology, referral, and channel partners.
- Build relationships with ATS, HCM, HRIS, payroll, workforce management, and HR technology providers.
- Evaluate opportunities based on strategic alignment, revenue potential, market fit, and integration feasibility.
- Negotiate referral, co-marketing, and joint go-to-market agreements.
- Expand and diversify the company partner ecosystem.

Revenue & Pipeline Generation
- Develop partner-sourced and partner-influenced revenue opportunities.
- Create and execute quarterly partnership growth plans.
- Generate qualified referrals through partner networks and co-selling initiatives.
- Collaborate with Sales leadership to convert partner opportunities into closed business.
- Maintain visibility into partner-generated pipeline, forecasts, and revenue contribution.
Technology & Alliance Management
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for technology and integration partners.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts with Product, Operations, and Implementation teams.
- Support the launch, adoption, and ongoing growth of strategic integrations.
- Foster long-term relationships with partner executives, sales teams, and product leaders.
Partner Enablement
- Develop onboarding and training programs for new partners.
- Create partner-facing sales collateral, messaging, and enablement materials.
- Conduct product demonstrations and value proposition training.
- Ensure partners understand SmartHRCheqs services, differentiators, and compliance expertise.
Marketing & Industry Engagement
- Partner with Marketing on webinars, campaigns, and joint promotions.
- Identify opportunities for co-branded content and thought leadership.
- Represent SmartHRCheqs at conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
- Support partner-sponsored events and marketplace initiatives.

Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain accurate partner records, activities, and opportunities in HubSpot.
- Track partnership KPIs, pipeline contribution, referral activity, and revenue performance.
- Prepare reports on partner results, growth opportunities, and return on investment.
- Recommend improvements that increase partner activation and program effectiveness.

Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, channel sales, strategic alliances, or a related role.
- Experience within HR technology, payroll, HCM, ATS, SaaS, staffing technology, or background screening.
- Demonstrated success developing revenue-generating partnerships and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Experience negotiating partnership agreements and executing joint go-to-market initiatives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and relationship-management skills.
- Proficiency with HubSpot or a comparable CRM platform.
Preferred
- Background screening experience and knowledge of hiring, onboarding, and employment screening workflows.
- Existing network within HR technology, payroll, ATS, HCM, or related provider ecosystems.
- Experience with software integrations, APIs, partner marketplaces, and technology alliance programs.
