Strategic Partnerships Manager – Financial Services
London | Hybrid
Competitive salary + bonus + equity
Want to build a partner channel rather than inherit one?
We're working with a fast-growing payments technology business looking for an experienced Partnerships Manager to help build the next stage of its Financial Services partner ecosystem.
This is a genuinely commercial role with real ownership.
You'll identify and sign new strategic partners across Financial Services, turn those relationships into active revenue-generating channels, and grow the value of an existing partner portfolio.
You'll have the opportunity to build something from the ground up, working directly with senior leaders across Partnerships, Sales, Product, and Marketing as the business scales.
If you've already built successful partnerships within Financial Services or FS technology and want more ownership, visibility, and commercial impact, this could be a very exciting next move.
The opportunity
You'll take ownership of partnerships across areas including Lending, Collections, Insurance, and Wealth Management, working with technology platforms, ISVs, systems integrators, and consultancies that serve these markets.
This is a mix of new business and partner growth.
You'll identify new partnership opportunities, build relationships from scratch, negotiate commercial agreements, and get partners live. Once they're established, you'll work with them and the internal Sales team to create a consistent flow of new opportunities.
You'll also inherit existing relationships where there is significant potential to uncover new revenue.
The business is growing quickly and expanding its offering across recurring payments, smart payment recovery, and Variable Recurring Payments (VRPs), giving you a strong and evolving proposition to take to market.
What you'll be doing
You'll:
- Build and own a pipeline of new strategic partners across Financial Services
- Identify and approach platforms, ISVs, systems integrators, and consultancies that could become valuable commercial partners
- Develop partnerships across Lending, Collections, Insurance, Wealth Management, and other relevant FS markets
- Take new partnerships from initial conversation through commercial negotiation, agreement, and launch
- Turn signed partners into active channels that generate genuine sales opportunities and revenue
- Work closely with Sales to establish effective referral processes and ensure partner opportunities are followed through
- Grow an existing portfolio of partners by identifying untapped opportunities within their customer bases
- Own the commercial performance of your partnerships and understand where the greatest revenue opportunities lie
- Build business cases and negotiate commercial agreements alongside Legal and Finance
- Work with Product and Solutions teams to take partnerships from commercial agreement through to live integration
- Train and enable partners so they understand the proposition and can confidently introduce it to their customers
- Own your pipeline, forecasting, and partner performance in HubSpot
- Represent the business at relevant industry events and build your network across the Financial Services ecosystem
- Feed market, partner, and competitor insight back into the wider business

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Who we're looking for
This role is for someone who has done this before.
We're looking for an experienced partnerships professional who understands how to find the right partners, win them, get them live, and turn those relationships into measurable commercial results.
You'll likely have 5+ years' experience across Partnerships, Channel Sales, or Business Development, with significant experience in Financial Services or technology serving the sector.
You might currently work within WealthTech, LendTech, InsurTech, RegTech, payments, or another B2B Financial Services technology business.
We're particularly interested in speaking to people who:
- Have personally built or grown a partner/channel program within Financial Services or FS technology
- Have carried a commercial or revenue target and can demonstrate the impact of their partnerships
- Are comfortable both winning new partners and developing existing relationships
- Have built pipeline from a cold start rather than only inheriting an established portfolio
- Understand the Financial Services ecosystem and the technology businesses operating within it
- Have experience negotiating significant commercial agreements
- Can build relationships at a senior level while still being hands-on enough to drive opportunities forward
- Understand how technology partnerships translate into commercial value
- Are comfortable working closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, Legal, and Finance
- Enjoy working in a scaling business where there's an opportunity to build, improve, and influence how things are done

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
A background specifically within payments is an advantage, but it isn't essential. What's more important is strong Financial Services knowledge, proven partnerships experience, and the ability to get up to speed with technical propositions quickly.
Experience with HubSpot and modern prospecting/outreach tools would also be useful.
The kind of person who'll thrive here
You're probably not looking for a role where everything has already been built for you.
You'll enjoy taking ownership, spotting opportunities, and turning an idea or introduction into something commercially meaningful.
You're equally comfortable opening doors with new partners, negotiating a significant agreement, and sitting down with an existing partner to work out how you can generate more business together.
You'll be curious about the market, commercially driven, and happy working in an environment where things are evolving quickly.
Most importantly, you'll want to build something and be able to point to the revenue and growth you've helped create.
Why join?
This is an opportunity to join a payments business at an important stage of its growth.
Rather than simply managing an established partner book, you'll have the chance to shape how the Financial Services partner channel develops and have real influence over how partner-sourced revenue scales.
You'll be working with an evolving product proposition across recurring payments, smart recovery, and Open Banking, including VRPs, while collaborating closely with senior people across the business.
It's a visible role, with clear commercial ownership and plenty of scope to make your mark as the company grows.
