Company Description
Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity provides comprehensive specialist palliative care through inpatient, outpatient, wellbeing, Hospice@Home, lymphoedema, and palliative care services. A core team of specialist palliative medicine consultants works alongside doctors and specialist nurses, supporting people within the Hospice and across the local community. The team also delivers care and expertise within Northampton General Hospital and Danetre Hospital in Daventry, ensuring continuity of support across settings. All clinical services are free at the point of delivery, funded jointly by the Northampton Integrated Care Board and the generous contributions of supporters of Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity. The charity is committed to compassionate, high-quality care for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Role Description
The Strategic Partnerships Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Northamptonshire, responsible for identifying, developing, and managing partnerships that support the hospice’s mission and fundraising goals. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Prospecting and cultivating relationships with corporate partners, community organizations, trusts, and major donors
- Preparing compelling proposals, presentations, and partnership agreements
- Collaborating with internal teams to align partnership activities with clinical services, communications, and events, ensuring that partners are engaged and informed about the impact of their support

The role involves:
- Monitoring partnership performance
- Maintaining accurate records
- Providing regular reports and forecasts to senior leadership
This role also includes:
- Representing Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity at meetings, networking events, and public engagements to raise awareness and build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in partnership development, business development, or fundraising, preferably within the charity or healthcare sector.
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with corporate partners, community groups, and donors.
- Excellent communication skills, including confident presentation, negotiation, and the ability to create persuasive written proposals and reports.
- Solid planning, project management, and organizational abilities, with capacity to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.
- Analytical skills to track performance, interpret data, and provide clear insights and recommendations on partnership activity.
- Collaborative working style, with the ability to build effective internal relationships across clinical, fundraising, and communications teams.
- Understanding of or interest in palliative care, hospice services, and the charitable sector; prior experience in a not-for-profit environment is an advantage.
- Proficiency with CRM or donor management systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or equivalent).
- Ability to work on-site in Northamptonshire and attend external meetings and events as required.
