Digital Strategic Portfolio Specialist
The Digital Strategic Portfolio Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the development of AXA XL UK&L’s Portfolio Underwriting strategy. This role focuses on operational support of the Digital Portfolio Solutions Business Unit across Facilities and the Digital Underwriting platform and execution of digital Underwriting initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to ensure alignment across Facilities and Digital Underwriting portfolios.
What you’ll be doing
What will your essential responsibilities include?
Portfolio monitoring
- Analyzing and tracking underwriting performance through the Portfolio Management Process (PMP) and QBR’s.
- Maintaining excellent broker relationships and aligning portfolio strategies with other business lines and country managers.
- Ensuring effective implementation of the PMP within teams to align with strategic goals.
Governance and compliance
- Ensure alignment to internal and external compliance and governance requirements for the Digital Portfolio Solutions Facilities portfolio.
- Conduct control and reporting processes to support the Digital Portfolio Solutions business unit.
- Ensure all digital initiatives comply with established risk management protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with digital transformation projects.
- Work closely with Risk Managements functions to ensure Facility portfolio appetite and exposures are well understood and within requirements.
Strategic and financial Planning
- Collaborating with the Head of Portfolio Optimisation to align division and product line objectives.
- Leading strategic projects in the Lloyd’s region to drive profitability, growth and operational efficiency.
- Executing critical business change initiatives and providing regular updates to the Underwriting leadership team.
Internal coordination and plan execution
- Working with GCUO’s to improve underwriting strategy, rules, guidelines and operations.
- Developing and implementing strategic underwriting operational plans aligned with objectives.
- Supporting recruitment of talent and ensuring the timely use of underwriting metrics for decision-making.
- Conducting pre and post bind reviews in conjunction with GCUOs and providing feedback to improve Underwriting and Operations.
- Work closely with IT, Data & Analytics, Underwriting Oversight, and Underwriting Optimisation to ensure seamless integration of digital initiatives.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive digital transformation projects.

What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, IT, or a related field

Proven experience in strategic analysis, governance and oversight, and project management.

Excellent understanding of digital transformation and underwriting processes.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
-
Fantastic communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
-
Experience in the insurance industry is essential.

Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

High level of integrity and commitment to excellence.
