Strategic Pricing Analyst
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Strategic Pricing Analyst to support the development, review, and optimization of pricing strategies and models across the organization. This role plays a critical part in driving transformational business opportunities by providing robust pricing analytics, evaluating deal profitability and risk, and supporting informed decision-making.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining customer pricing models, supporting complex pricing initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure pricing solutions align with business objectives and market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze charge-out rates and provide data-driven recommendations to support pricing decisions.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance customer pricing models, rate cards, and pricing tools.
- Lead pricing activities on assigned projects and large-scale strategic initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support on pricing calculations, methodologies, and rate application within pricing models.
- Conduct customer portfolio profitability analyses and identify opportunities for margin optimization.
- Support the development and implementation of corporate pricing strategies and best practices.
- Assess deal profitability, risks, and commercial implications to support executive decision-making.
- Collaborate with Finance, Business Development, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure pricing accuracy and consistency.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance to other Strategic Pricing Analysts as needed.
- Continuously identify process improvements and drive enhancements in pricing tools and methodologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Pricing, Contracts, Proposals, Business Management, Finance, Commercial Operations, IT, or database maintenance/management.
- Experience within the CRO, healthcare, life sciences, or related industry is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting complex commercial proposals, financial modeling, or pricing strategy initiatives.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to develop, troubleshoot, quality check, and enhance complex spreadsheet-based solutions.
- Strong understanding of pricing methodologies, costing models, and profitability analysis.
- Ability to analyze resource-based costing structures and resourcing algorithms.
- Understanding of how pricing systems integrate with financial, operational, and commercial platforms.
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling capabilities.
Analytical & Business Skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to assess complex budgets, identify key dependencies, and evaluate commercial risks.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs within deadlines.
Communication & Collaboration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to clearly articulate pricing recommendations, business impacts, and risk assessments to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and geographies.
- Ability to influence decision-making through data-driven insights.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the Contract Research Organization (CRO) industry.
- Experience with pricing automation tools, business intelligence platforms, or financial planning systems.
- Knowledge of commercial contracting, proposal development, and revenue optimization strategies.
- Experience leading pricing workstreams on large, complex business opportunities.
