About The Role
The Strategic Procurement Lead – UK & Europe is a senior regional role responsible for shaping and executing Macro's procurement and supply chain strategy across the UK & Europe.
This position will drive Category Strategy, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Supplier Performance, commercial governance, and end-to-end supply chain optimisation to support both existing operations and new business growth.
The role partners closely with regional leadership, global category teams, and client-facing operations to ensure our supply chain is resilient, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with Macro's global standards.
The role will also be responsible for developing and optimising Macro's regional supplier segmentation and governance framework (PSL/Supplier Tiering), ensuring suppliers are appropriately classified, managed and developed according to strategic importance, capability, risk profile and business value.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement
- Lead and continuously mature Category Management capability across the region, developing category strategies, market intelligence, and sourcing plans aligned to Macro's global procurement objectives.
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations while developing Macro's supplier segmentation framework, supplier tiering model (PSL), strategic supplier relationship development programme, and SRM capability.
- Support bid activity and new business mobilisation with robust commercial and supply chain solutions.
- Develop commercial strategies, deliver savings, and manage contracts and negotiations across key FM categories.
- Lead supplier governance, risk, and compliance programmes, ensuring effective due diligence, appropriate controls, supplier resilience, and compliance with Macro's procurement policies, governance standards, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing principles.
- Drive sustainability, diversity, and responsible sourcing initiatives across the region.
- Implement supplier performance management, KPIs, supplier scorecards, and continuous improvement programmes, driving measurable service, commercial, and ESG performance improvements across the supply base.
- Drive procurement digitisation, automation and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency, compliance, data quality, transparency, and decision-making capabilities across the procurement and supply chain function.
- Leverage procurement analytics, Power BI, supplier performance data, and market intelligence to provide actionable insights and support strategic decision making.

Supply Chain Management
- Oversee end‑to‑end supply chain performance across the UK & Europe, ensuring continuity, efficiency, resilience, and risk mitigation.
- Provide key account and client support, ensuring supply chain solutions align with contractual and operational requirements.
- Partner with Operations to optimise service delivery models, supplier deployment strategies and supply chain performance.
- Support business continuity, mobilisation, and growth initiatives through effective supply chain planning and resource alignment.
Stakeholder & Supplier Engagement
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and strategic suppliers.
- Develop executive-level relationships with key strategic suppliers, driving innovation, collaboration, risk mitigation and long-term value creation.
- Represent the region within global procurement and supply chain forums.
- Provide commercial insight, market intelligence, and risk analysis to senior leadership.
- Keep abreast of industry best practices and regulations.
- Maintain a network of industry contacts to gather supplier information can be gained.
- Manage and ensure communication of SCM best practice to the wider business.
About You

Essential
- Demonstrable experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Supplier Performance Management, Supplier Governance, and Procurement Transformation within an FM environment.
- Strong commercial acumen, with training or experience in contract law and/or contract formulation being an advantage.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, commercial negotiations, supplier governance, contract management, and supplier performance improvement.
- A team player with the ability to work autonomously, remotely, and flexibly.
- Diligent and analytical, with strong organisation, planning, and team leadership skills.
- Digitally savvy, with advanced skills in procurement platforms (e.g., Proactis), Power BI, Microsoft 365 (particularly Excel), data analytics, AI-enabled tools, and procurement reporting solutions.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience operating across multiple countries or regions.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Degree qualification.
Desirable
- Technical understanding of hard and soft services and a strong supplier network.
- A relevant Master’s degree and/or related qualification.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS, APICS, CPSM, CSCP, PMP, etc.
