Our client is a highly regarded UK investment bank supporting ambitious small- and mid-cap companies. As the firm continues to grow, it is seeking a Strategic Programme Specialist to work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and help deliver a range of business-critical initiatives.
This is a rare opportunity to gain broad exposure across Banking, Trading, Technology, workforce planning and wider business operations. You will work in a visible, fast-paced environment, supporting senior stakeholders while helping turn strategic priorities into delivered outcomes.
The opportunity
You will play a key role in coordinating and monitoring multiple strategic workstreams across the business. From tracking milestones and managing actions to producing senior-level materials and identifying operational improvements, this role offers genuine responsibility from day one. The position is open to graduates and candidates with up to two years of relevant experience. It would suit someone who is highly organised, analytically minded and keen to build a long-term career in investment banking, strategy or business operations.

Key responsibilities
- Support the Chief Strategy Officer in coordinating and tracking strategic initiatives.
- Maintain project plans across several concurrent workstreams, ensuring milestones, actions, dependencies and risks are clearly documented.
- Prepare concise briefing materials, status reports and presentations for senior management.
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather updates, follow up on actions and escalate blockers where appropriate.
- Maintain high-quality project documentation, registers and reporting logs.
- Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and contribute practical ideas for improvement.
- Support the adoption of tools and platforms that enhance productivity, collaboration and operational effectiveness.
Candidate profile
- A recent graduate or professional with up to two years’ experience in project coordination, business operations, strategy, chief-of-staff, transformation, consulting or a similarly fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear, high-quality stakeholder materials.
- Good Excel and PowerPoint capability.
- A genuine interest in investment banking, trading, financial markets and technology.
- Analytical, detail-oriented and comfortable working through ambiguity.
- Proactive, solutions-focused and confident taking ownership of work.

Desirable experience
- Familiarity with AI tools, workflow automation or emerging productivity technologies.
- Experience using Jira, Asana, Monday.com, Trello, Microsoft Project or similar task-management platforms.
- Exposure to data analysis, reporting or visualisation tools.
