Position Summary
The Strategic Sourcing Analyst will support the development and execution of Rolls-Royce's long-term strategy for critical minerals, rare earth elements and metal revert programmes. The role is responsible for providing market intelligence, economic analysis, financial modelling and strategic insights that enable procurement and supply chain decisions in an increasingly complex and geopolitically sensitive raw materials landscape.
The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying supply risks and opportunities, evaluating investment and sourcing strategies, monitoring global market developments, and supporting initiatives that enhance security of supply, sustainability and competitiveness.
What you will be doing
- Monitor and analyse global critical mineral and rare earth markets, including supply-demand dynamics, geopolitical developments, regulatory changes and emerging industry trends.
- Develop market outlooks and forecasting models to support strategic decision-making.
- Produce regular executive-level reports and presentations highlighting key market developments and risks.
- Develop financial models to evaluate sourcing strategies, supplier opportunities, recycling initiatives and investment cases.
- Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to assess market volatility and business exposure.
- Support the development of closed-loop supply chain models and sustainability initiatives.

Position qualifications
Essential
- Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Supply Chain and/or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Experience developing financial models and performing economic analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills, including modelling, forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Ability to synthesise complex datasets into clear business insights.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in Economics, Finance, Data Analytics or a related field.
- Experience working within procurement, commodities, mining, metals, materials, manufacturing or aerospace sectors.
- Understanding of critical minerals, rare earth elements, strategic commodities or sustainability issues.
- Knowledge of commodity markets, geopolitical risk assessment and supply chain strategy.
