Strategic Supply Chain Officer
Client: BAE Systems
Location: Warton
Contract Length: 6 months
Hybrid: onsite – Full time
37 hours per week
Rate: £26.07 PAYE or £34.99 Umbrella inside IR35
Overview
I'm currently supporting BAE Systems with the appointment of a Strategic Supply Chain Officer to join the Future Combat Air Systems programme.
Clearance requirement: Eligible for SC clearance
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing and procurement activity across a defined supplier portfolio
- Negotiate pricing and contractual terms
- Develop and influence supply chain strategies
- Manage supplier risk and drive supply chain resilience
- Support programme reviews and governance activities
- Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Commercial, Finance and Legal teams

Key Skills
- Procurement or supply chain experience within a complex environment
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing supplier risk and opportunities
- Strong data analysis and reporting capability
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Previous strategic supplier management experience would be advantageous
- MCIPS, working towards MCIPS, or a relevant business degree would be beneficial
