Job Overview
Arm sits at the forefront of some of the most significant changes taking place across computing and AI. This role offers an opportunity to help shape how Arm explores that rapidly evolving technology landscape: identifying emerging technologies and companies, developing investment hypotheses, and helping direct where we build relationships, partnerships and make strategic investments.
Working within Strategic Ventures and across Arm’s technology and business teams, you will explore technologies at an early stage and develop a view of where they could create future strategic and commercial value. We are looking for someone who can bring new perspectives, challenge established thinking and look beyond obvious extensions of what Arm does today.
For someone with a strong technical background, this is an opportunity to build on that expertise while developing broader strategic, commercial and investment experience.
Responsibilities
- Work with Arm’s technical and business leadership to identify emerging technologies and market developments that could become strategically important.
- Develop and test hypotheses for areas where venture investment or strategic partnerships could create value for Arm.
- Explore and map emerging technology landscapes, looking beyond Arm’s established activities to identify new opportunities and challenges.
- Proactively identify and source companies against strategic and technical priorities.
- Assess and filter opportunities using technical, strategic and commercial considerations, drawing on Arm experts for deeper technical validation.
- Develop clear recommendations on where Arm should investigate further, build relationships, partner, invest or continue to monitor.
- Build relationships with founders, technology leaders, investors, academics and others across emerging technology ecosystems.
- Own selected strategic relationships and work across Arm to develop promising opportunities into partnerships or potential investments.
Required Skills And Experience
- A strong technical foundation in an area relevant to the future of computing, such as semiconductors, computer systems, AI, networking, software or another deep-technology field.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to investigate unfamiliar technologies, develop hypotheses and reach evidence-based conclusions.
- The ability to understand both how a technology works and its potential wider strategic and commercial significance.
- Intellectual curiosity and independence, with the confidence to constructively challenge established assumptions and change your own view as evidence develops.
- The ability to work across organisational boundaries and influence senior technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to turn complex technical information into clear recommendations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

In Return
