Strategy Analyst
London – Hybrid 3 days

About the Role
Support the development and refresh of ITGPST Technology Strategy artefacts through structured analysis of platforms, capabilities, and initiatives
- Conduct current-state assessments, including capability mapping, platform inventories, and identification of constraints and pain points across GPS products
- Analyse external drivers (e.g. payments market trends, regulatory change, infrastructure evolution and competitor actions) and assess implications for ITGPST
- Maintain strategy tracking artefacts related to application, capability and services scope, metrics and supporting initiatives
- Support the development of targeted strategy deliverables against key technology priorities (e.g. AI, data, cloud modernization etc.)
- Support the development and review of business cases for emerging strategic priorities
- Produce clear, well-structured strategy insights, options, and recommendations
Strategy Roadmap Delivery Tracking
- Support the development and ongoing maintenance of multi-year ITGPST roadmaps, ensuring initiatives are clearly articulated, prioritised, and aligned to strategic themes
- Maintain visibility of strategic initiatives across their lifecycle (planned, funded, in-flight, delivered) across global and regional portfolios
- Capture and track delivery progress against the ITGPST strategy, reporting key strategic achievements (e.g. capability, resilience, cost or risk benefits) and assessing whether initiatives are delivering intended strategic outcomes
- Support analysis of dependencies, sequencing, and trade-offs, highlighting areas of misalignment or emerging delivery risk
- Produce concise strategy-to-delivery reporting (e.g. progress summaries, achievement highlights, variance to plan) for senior executive and regulatory routines
- Support traceability from strategy to delivery outcomes, enabling leadership assurance and informed decision-making
- Assist in identifying strategic risks, constraints, and emerging issues
- Maintain and evolve core strategy artefacts that demonstrate clarity, consistency, and progress over time

Architecture Target-State Support
- Partner with Architecture colleagues to summarise detailed architecture artefacts into executive-ready summary outputs
- Support analysis related to legacy platforms, consolidation opportunities, and migration to strategic global solutions
- Ensure strategic materials appropriately reflect resilience, scalability, regulatory, and regional considerations globally
Governance Stakeholder Engagement
- Support the development of strategy-related materials for executive routines
- Contribute to the planning and facilitation of strategy workshops, working sessions, and senior reviews
- Act as a coordination point between strategy, architecture, portfolio, and delivery teams on ITGPST strategic topics
Essential
- Experience in strategy, technology analysis, or transformation within financial services or payments. Well-suited to candidates from a consulting background.
- Understanding of payments ecosystems, particularly international and cross-border payments
- Strong analytical and problem-structuring skills, with the ability to work with ambiguity
- Excellent written and visual communication skills, able to produce executive-ready materials
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams with guidance, while owning defined outputs
