Strategy & Investment Surveyor | UK Listed REIT

Location: London
Level: Newly Qualified – 2 years PQE

We are working with a UK-listed REIT that is embarking on an ambitious growth strategy, with the objective of doubling its property portfolio over the next couple of years. As part of this growth, the business is looking to appoint a Strategy & Investment Surveyor to join its team and play an important role across business strategy, investment and development projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a surveyor looking to make the move client-side and gain broad exposure across the business — from market research and underwriting through to investment, development, transaction execution, reporting and valuation.

The Role

You will work closely with experienced investment and strategy professionals, supporting:

  • Wider business strategy and growth initiatives
  • Underwriting acquisitions and disposals
  • Investment and development projects
  • Preparing investment cases, investment committee and board materials
  • Financial modelling, including cash flow, IRR and yield analysis
  • Market research and analysis of current and prospective tenants
  • Value creation initiatives across the existing estate
  • Portfolio monitoring and reporting
  • Market comparables, pipeline activity and investment data
  • Coordination with agents, advisors, legal, tax and finance teams

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

We are looking for a newly qualified to 2-year PQE surveyor, ideally with a mixed background. This role would particularly suit someone currently working within a property consultancy who has completed a mixture of rotations and is now looking to take that experience client-side. You may have gained exposure across areas such as investment, valuation, development, leasing or asset management and are now looking for a role that will give you a broader commercial perspective and direct involvement in investment decisions and business strategy.

You will ideally have:

  • A strong interest in property investment, development and capital markets
  • A broad grounding in commercial real estate
  • Excellent analytical and attention-to-detail skills
  • Good Excel and financial data skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive, collaborative approach
  • A genuine desire to develop within an investment-focused environment

Why This Opportunity?

With a clear ambition to double the portfolio over the next couple of years, this is an exciting time to join the business and have a meaningful impact on its investment, development and wider business strategy. Rather than focusing on one specific surveying discipline, the role provides the opportunity to develop a broader understanding of how a listed property business makes strategic and investment decisions.

You will gain significant exposure to commercial real estate transactions, develop financial modelling and investment analysis skills, and work closely with experienced real estate professionals and senior leadership.
