Our Strategy & Partnerships Team

Reporting directly to the JD Worldwide CEO, the Strategy & Partnerships team is a lean, agile, and fast-paced unit which drives critical growth initiatives across corporate strategy, business development, and post-deal integration. The team is entrusted with significant responsibility—from identifying and executing strategic partnerships, to deepening JD's global network of relationships with global brands and retail partners, to ensuring seamless integration of acquired businesses that delivers measurable value. With broad ownership and direct executive exposure, the team operates in a high-accountability environment where speed, judgment, and impact matter.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Development: Assist in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders for JD International, including partners from major global brands, retailers, and industry institutions.
  • Account Management: Act as a key point of contact at the HQ level for our key brand accounts. Build long-term relationships to enhance financial performance, marketing efforts, engagement, and overall satisfaction.
  • Negotiation and deal-making: Support commercial discussions with brand partners to drive sustainable long-term growth.
  • Analysis & Agility: Utilise data-driven decision making to understand the performance of initiatives, and pivoting when necessary to improve results.
  • Partner Internally: Work closely with internal stakeholders at JD Worldwide, including in R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance and Central Operations.
  • Project Management: Support the Strategy & Partnerships team in the execution of strategic projects across the business, including post-merger integration, new market expansion, cross-business collaboration processes, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in account management or a relevant commercial role managing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise accounts across regions and/or functions; including client-facing experience at executive levels and a track record of outperforming metrics-based business goals.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills (verbal and written). Fluency in English is required, Proficiency in Chinese (both written and verbal) or other European languages is helpful.
  • Experience helping define or scale partnership programs, operating models, or partner GTM frameworks.
  • Excellent project management experience including juggling multiple projects at the same time. Experience developing detailed joint business plans with enterprise partners and consistently delivering above expectations.
  • Experience in negotiating multi-faceted deals through bringing together business, strategy, finance, and legal concepts.
  • A strong background with data and data analysis, making data-led decisions and using sound business judgement.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively between external partners and internal teams and stakeholders e.g. product / ops / supply chain / category leads.
  • Speed, resourcefulness, and a bias to action (i.e. roll up sleeves + and get in the details with our highest value partners!). This team moves fast and always operates in new spaces, constantly learning and evolving!
  • Preferred: experience in e-commerce, retail, logistics, or technology industries.
