We're recruiting for an experienced and pro-active Strategy Development Lead on a full-time permanent basis. This position sits within the Strategy team. We are flexible on the location of this role.

In this role, you'll be instrumental in performing strategic reviews with rigorous analysis and actionable recommendations, spearheading efforts to ensure ACCA's business model and value chain align with ACCA's strategy and are fit for the future. You'll also be instrumental in the evolution and implementation of the ACCA strategy.

To deliver success, you'll be experienced in developing organisational strategy and be able to rapidly build your network. You'll have a deep understanding of resolving key challenges, identifying and implementing approaches to seize opportunities, and showcase abilities to both develop and execute strategies. You'll also have experience in working with internal and external stakeholders at varying degrees of seniority, including the Executive Board.

The Job

  • Lead high quality strategic reviews to test ACCA's strategy and face into key challenges by taking the lead and working collaboratively with key stakeholders in conducting strategic reviews and deep dives into significant opportunities, key strategic challenges, or critical operational blockers.
  • Lead the analysis supporting ACCA's value chain and business model through assessing and ensuring alignment to ACCA's strategy, and through meticulous analysis of key considerations around ACCA's financial model, operating structure, and value propositions.
  • Create and facilitate highly engaging and informative materials and strategy sessions, by working closely with the Head of Strategy Development and Alignment and the Director of Strategy, for Executive Board and other key cross-functional groups to offer challenge, assess trends and stimulate strategic thinking about ACCA's future direction.
  • Through cross-functional working, facilitate and maintain a deep understanding of ACCA's capability model, its key strengths and any potential or emerging gaps, to inform ACCA's approach in ensuring support and alignment with ACCA's strategic ambition and objectives.
  • Inform and support ACCA's approach to strategic execution, including supporting alignment across operations, efforts to create and embed innovation, risk co-ordination, and supporting colleagues within the Strategy Development & Alignment team around the strategic plan and wider planning activities.

The Person

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Able to demonstrate significant experience in strategic thinking, strategy development and implementation, and business model evolution.
  • Able to make informed judgements based on facts/data and develop objective, well-balanced discussion points and recommendations.
  • Personal presence and strong interpersonal, networking and active listening skills to positively influence, guide, challenge, and collaborate on strategic thinking with senior stakeholders.
  • Understanding of integrated thinking principles.
  • Curious and astute, adept at pushing boundaries to challenge the status quo.
  • Able to communicate analysis and recommendations clearly and succinctly, building compelling presentations with content tailored to the appropriate audience: able to story tell with creative visual designs and data.
  • Experience in designing and running workshops with cross-functional and senior teams, including Executive personnel.
  • Able to work in partnership/cross-functionally, recognising diverse perspectives in globally distributed, multi-national teams to develop recommendations.
  • Delivery focused, able to work with agility, and able to keep things simple to support teams to navigate ambiguity.
  • A commitment to self-development and continuous learning.
