Strategy Development Senior Manager (Strategic Planning)

Boeing’s Enterprise Services organization is seeking a Strategy Development Senior Manager to join their Operational Excellence & Transformation team in a virtual/ hybrid capacity.
We are looking for an experienced Manager to support our transformation journey. This person should be curious, and be able to lead large-scale, critical projects/ initiatives related to organizational strategy, mergers & acquisitions, business process and policy and procedures. Experience with Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Acquire-to-Retire (A2R) processes is ideal.
You will also perform as a Lean leader within our Operational Excellence team and the wider Enterprise Services function. You will lead Lean activities and workshops around concepts, tools, and techniques such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), process mapping, the Boeing Problem Solving Model (BPSM) and Accelerated Improvement Workshop (AIW).
Whether directly leading, coaching and developing your team, or indirectly managing other teams, you will ensure that they all embody our curious, bold, kind culture, a simpler, faster, better mindset, while at the same time instilling a high performing team ethos.
Enterprise Services is a team of 2,500+ employees whose collective mission is to enable the build of Boeing’s products. Enterprise Services provides strategic partnership and support to all Boeing business units through multiple service towers – creating impact and value across the Enterprise.
Position Responsibilities:
Strategy Development:
- Working extensively with the Enterprise Services Executive Director, you will understand the key ES strategies to action, be able to develop plans, influence key stakeholders by leveraging key insights, & lead execution activities
- Support M&A activities as needed, ensuring timely completion of key activities linked to integrations & divestitures
- Thrive in ambiguous and complex environments - add structure and thought leadership to yield positive outcomes
- Create value with new solutions, some of which may challenge status quo in established processes/environments
- Represent Enterprise Service in key forums
People Management:
- Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers. Defines clear roles, career paths, and supports development planning
- Demonstrates active listening and inspires others to achieve organizational objectives
- Promotes a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement through innovation, and cross‑functional collaboration aligned with the Boeing values and behaviors
Process & Procedures:
- Be able to lead Lean activities to include Value Stream Mapping (VSM), process mapping, Boeing Problem Solving Model (BPSM), and Accelerated Improvement Workshops (AIW) to review ES process and procedures to make them more efficient and effective, allowing us to change the way we operate, to be simpler, faster & better
- Own, lead and support a portfolio of programs/ initiatives concurrently and meet critical deadlines

Program Management:
- Be able to execute full lifecycle agile project management on multiple complex, high-priority initiatives from concept scope/definition, as well assuming those already started
- At a program/ initiative level, understand and be able to clearly articulate current state, objectives, success criteria and milestone commitments, as well as any risks, issues and resolution actions
- Manage project and program plans inclusive of schedules, reports, monitoring metrics, change activity, communicating and updating plans regularly throughout lifecycle
- Develop and on-going monitoring of detailed delivery plan against agreed commitments
- Define and proactively manage risks, escalating to appropriate parties where appropriate
- Define relevant KPI’s to assess program performance and business impact
- Develop project and program plans at all levels across functional areas to achieve objectives within scope, time, quality, and constraints from initiation to post completion
- Manage change management process and apply industry best standards
Facilitation:
- Facilitate Lean continuous improvement workshops to enhance organizational efficiency and productivity through deeper application of Lean principles and methodologies
Building Relationships:
- Engage all levels of stakeholders (including VP) to proactively understand and confirm necessary requirements that will drive our strategies forward and inform project/ program deliverables
- Develop strong relationships with key suppliers, vendors, functional stakeholders, and program sponsors
- Collaborate closely with cross functional teams to streamline processes, reduce waste, and optimize performance
- Engage stakeholders proactively to understand & confirm requirements that will inform project/ program deliverables
- Develop relationships with key functional stakeholders and program sponsors; deliver insightful, high-quality outcomes while managing governance with key stakeholders
Business Story Telling:
- Create high quality presentations that tell business stories that target the audience; provide progress updates, and create/ lead detailed business cases for new programs/ projects
- Collect and interpret data, evaluate, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions, and communicate effectively to stakeholders

- Indirect Supply Chain Leadership Team
- Enterprise Supply Chain Operations Council
- Multiple functional partners: IT, Data and Business Intelligence, Finance, HR
- External suppliers & vendors – all the way up to senior executive level leadership
- Build external relationships with necessary vendors and/or consultant parties
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Extensive experience in strategic consultancy services organisations
- 15+ years of experience leading large-scale projects or programs inclusive of managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, risk, costs, communication, coordination, execution, and control
- 15+ years of experience communicating and leading projects inclusive of employees, customers, peers, and up to executive leadership
- Experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

- Prior experience in consulting and/or project management in a large, complex industrial company preferred

- Knowledge of SAP Ariba preferred
