Strategy Director / Planning Lead | London | £90-100k
An independent creative agency is looking for a senior strategist to lead planning across its client roster, working with some well-known consumer brands.
The Role
This is a hands-on position for someone who wants to be close to the work. You'll lead brand, campaign, shopper, social and activation strategy, turn complex problems into briefs that get creative teams excited, run workshops, and act as a trusted partner to senior clients. You'll also have a real voice in new business and in shaping how the agency's planning offer develops.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
A New Way of Doing Planning
The agency is building a leaner, AI-enabled approach to planning. Instead of managing a large team, you'll use AI tools to speed up research, insight mining and first drafts, so your time goes on judgement, creative development and client counsel. If you want to help define what great planning looks like in an AI-enabled agency, this is your chance.
