Your Role
You are a senior leader who possesses outstanding skills in winning work, managing client relationships, leading projects as well as persuasive communication skills. You will be responsible for winning work and leading consulting projects across a broad range of services, including workplace strategy, real estate portfolio strategy and change management.
What You Will Do
As a Strategy Director, you are a creative thinker who enjoys mapping our project processes to solve client problems, as well as developing relationships. You are an enthusiastic leader who is excited to help us develop and strengthen our client relationships. You are comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, open, collaborative environment and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously is a must. You are a self-starter, quick learner and have an entrepreneurial spirit.
Your Primary Responsibilities Include
- Presence in the local market, active and engaged in business development opportunities
- Develop client relationships to earn status as a trusted adviser
- Lead proposal development, including scope definition, process mapping, and compensation requirements
- Build relationships with our colleagues across the globe to advance client interests, Gensler interests, and practice area objectives.
- Lead teams as they collect quantitative data and qualitative feedback from user research
- Develop creative design concepts that illustrate options of how client organisations can be supported through performance enhancing workplace strategies
- Manage synthesis of information and the impact on space supply and occupancy demand data, business goals, and organizational culture
- Oversee development of powerful communication tools that help clients to visualize and understand the tradeoffs associated with various design concept and planning scenarios
- Interface with Gensler design studios to ensure the seamless transition of design strategy into the design implementation phase
- Direct and guide Project Managers who, in turn, manage day-to-day operations for projects including staffing, fee tracking and forecasting, and client meetings
- Maintain ultimate responsibility for the quality of deliverables, strategies, and other work products
- Mentor, support, and direct staff to help them achieve not only client goals but personal development goals
- Manage relationships with client’s other third party service providers including real estate brokers, consultants, project managers, etc.

Your Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in a relevant field and significant relevant professional experience. Design background with design strategy experience strongly preferred. Additional, relevant educational background (e.g., social science, business) is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years + within the Architecture & Design Industry.
- Strong record of winning work
- Excellent client relationship and account management experience
- Project directing, project management and team leadership experience
- Demonstrable ability to execute projects profitably
- Visibility in the field, including industry memberships, publications, and conference speaking experience
- Outstanding analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills and be an enthusiastic team player
- Strong writing skills
- High degree of flexibility, ability to work on multiple projects at once
- A level of familiarity with programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, specifically) to lead team members who use these programs daily
