VCCP Roar is a fully integrated PR and marketing agency, with deep specialisms in consumer, technology, corporate reputation and financial services. The agency brought together three specialist agencies with long heritage in their specialisms: Good Relations (consumer), Harvard (tech) and Teamspirit (financial services) into one fully integrated cross-sector business.
We are disruptors of influence, on a relentless mission to challenge the norm to stay ahead of how influence is earned - and created. We're a 150-person powerhouse and from synthetic audience tools and proprietary AI technology, to thumb-stopping creativity, we are obsessed with being at the forefront of what's next.
For this role, we're looking for a Strategist with solid B2B experience, as well as B2C.
The Role:
We are looking for a strategic leader with proven experience working as a trusted advisor to senior clients across both B2B and B2C brands. A natural driver of excellence, you will have a rich history of strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and an inspiring management style that elevates performance across the entire team.
For our clients…
- Responsible for a stable of clients that are successful, highly satisfied, and growing
- Provide a strategic vision for every client and every campaign you oversee, through clear strategies that you help embed within the account teams
- Suggest and drive new strategies and ideas to help clients achieve their business and marketing/comms goals, keep them at the leading edge of their sectors and in tune with their audience’s demands and expectations
- Consistently provide solutions to the thorniest marketing/comms problems that clients pose to us
- Excellent presentation skills that persuade effectively and deliver brilliant insight and advice at senior levels, including board level

For our team…
- Regularly lead on new business end-to-end, from the initial brief to the winning pitch and then looking after the client as an ongoing account
- Help raise the profile of the Strategy & Planning Dept in the agency and externally i.e. through blogs, new strategy-led propositions, marketing efforts, and sharing insights
- Excellent people management skills that help recruit, motivate and develop brilliant talent for the team
- Work with the Head of Strategy on team development and training, improving working practices and keeping us at the cutting edge of industry thinking
For our agency…
- Identify incremental revenue opportunities for the agency from current and new clients
- Provide leadership on behalf of the Strategy & Planning team and act as an ambassador for best-in-class comms and marketing strategy, measurement and campaigns across the agency, in conjunction with other senior management team members
- Work with the Head of Strategy and other members of the board to implement new processes and ways of working for the entire agency
- Represent VCCP Roar in industry conversations and at events, and help build its profile, and your own, as a thought leader in the sector
- Take an active, positive part in our agency culture and help drive Harvard’s own marketing and social activity
Duties and responsibilities:

- Client strategy: Partner with client service directors to guide account strategy and support clients to identify new comms or commercial opportunities
- Creative direction and oversight: Set strategic ambition on core campaigns, directing teams and ensuring comms and creative effectiveness
- Senior client counsel: Provide senior and C-suite level guidance to clients, lead strategy workshops and define measurement frameworks to prove effectiveness
- New business leadership: Lead key pitches across VCCP Roar, from defining the job to do to delivering
- Foresight & team leadership: Working alongside the Head of Strategy and other Strategy Directors, lead the strategy team, setting standards and driving agency awareness in the market
