Strategy Director (Data-Led) – Leading Digital & Tech Agency

Location: London based - (largely remote)
Travel: Manchester once a month
Salary: Competitive circa 70k-80k + Benefits
Level: Senior Level/ Team Lead

We’re working with a leading digital and technology agency to appoint a Strategy Director who can bring together data, technology, media, creative and brand to solve complex client challenges and drive meaningful business growth.

This is a genuine senior-level opportunity for an experienced strategist who can operate at the highest level with clients, whilst also helping shape the agency’s proposition, culture and future direction.

You’ll sit at the intersection of intelligence, creativity and technology – turning audience and commercial insight into strategies that influence everything from brand and communications through to digital experiences, media and customer journeys.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the agency’s strategic thinking across integrated, data-led client programmes.
  • Turn complex audience, behavioural and business data into clear, compelling strategic direction.
  • Connect teams across data, technology, media, creative, UX and brand, ensuring insight translates into impactful work.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, including CMOs, CTOs and other C-suite leaders.
  • Lead strategic workshops, pitches and senior client presentations, bringing clarity and authority to complex challenges.
  • Develop and evolve the agency’s strategic frameworks, methodologies and ways of working.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the agency’s proposition, open up new areas of growth and contribute to new business.
  • Mentor and develop a growing strategy and data team, creating an environment where curiosity, challenge and great thinking are encouraged.
  • Bring a strong external perspective to the board, keeping the agency ahead of changes in technology, consumer behaviour and the wider marketing landscape.
  • Help define where the agency goes next – not simply delivering the strategy, but helping shape the business behind it.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

You’ll be an experienced strategist with a genuinely integrated perspective. You don’t need to be a data scientist, but you do need to be comfortable using data and technology to inform strategic thinking and challenge conventional approaches.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Senior strategy experience within a creative, digital, media or integrated agency environment.
  • A strong understanding of how data, technology, media, creative and brand work together.
  • The ability to move comfortably between highly technical conversations and high-level commercial discussions.
  • Experience developing strategic propositions, frameworks and methodologies rather than simply responding to briefs.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a track record of contributing to growth, pitches and client development.
  • The confidence and gravitas to influence senior stakeholders and challenge clients when needed.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and developing strategy teams.
  • A naturally curious mindset and a genuine interest in emerging technology, culture, consumer behaviour and the future of marketing.
  • The ability to simplify complexity and turn intelligence into ideas that people can actually act on.
