Strategy Director / Planning Lead
London | £90,000-£100,000 | Full-time
We’re working with a creative agency looking for a senior strategic lead to take ownership of strategy across a number of key client relationships, while also helping shape the future of the agency’s planning offer.
This is a broad, hands-on role for an integrated strategist who is equally comfortable getting upstream into brand and audience strategy, turning insight into a sharp creative brief, developing shopper and activation thinking, or sitting alongside senior clients to help solve a business problem. The role spans brand, campaign, shopper, customer, social and activation strategy, with a strong focus on connecting strategic thinking to creative work and commercial outcomes. You’ll work closely with Creative, Account Management and agency leadership, and play an important role in new business, thought leadership and proposition development.
A key part of the opportunity is helping the agency build a more AI-enabled approach to planning: using AI to support areas such as insight mining, research, competitor analysis, social listening, stimulus generation, while applying senior judgement to turn that into useful, distinctive strategic thinking.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
