Strategy Manager

This is a hybrid working opportunity, two days a week will be required in our Manchester office.

Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join an expanding Strategy team with an exciting insurance company.

You'll work on some of the business' most important growth, performance and strategic priorities, shaping the future direction of the Retail business through insight, analysis and commercially focused recommendations.

Working across a broad range of topics, from market dynamics and competitive positioning to business performance and growth opportunities, you'll help identify opportunities, solve complex business challenges and influence key decisions.

As an early member of the team, you will also help establish the Strategy function as a trusted partner, delivering measurable business impact and embedding AI in our ways of working as a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic projects focused on Retail's most important opportunities and challenges
  • Develop insight-led recommendations to support decision-making
  • Conduct market, competitor and business performance analysis
  • Produce high-quality presentations and analysis for senior stakeholders
  • Support the development of Retail's strategic priorities and growth initiatives
  • Help shape the Strategy team's capabilities, ways of working and long-term impact
  • Use AI and emerging technologies to enhance insight generation, productivity and decision-making

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, transformation, or a similar role involving analysis, problem solving and strategic decision making
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex business issues
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong commercial acumen and curiosity about what drives business performance
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
  • Interest in the application of AI to solve business challenges
  • Financial Services or UK General Insurance experience is advantageous but not essential
