Strategy & Operations (1-3 YoE)

London, 4x days per week in-office

Vega is looking for multi-disciplinary A players who have what it takes to build a business from the ground up. We hire people who are already high-performers in MBB or finance/investing, but still have the itch to do more. This role will sit in the CEO Office, reporting to the Head of Strategy & Growth, working across the highest strategic priorities in the business.

About Vega

Vega is transforming the way private markets operate. Alternative asset management is one of the most influential forces in the global economy, with over $20TN in assets today. Over the next five years, the industry is set to grow 3x, but GPs are facing challenges around their ability to handle the investment flows that are coming in. GPs have been completely underserved by innovation, particularly on the investor relations side.

Vega built the industry’s first AI-native operating system, where all client work gets done - from the start of an investor’s journey to its end. We are rethinking how work gets done in private markets from first principles: the opportunity is big, but it’s also niche, high-stakes, and difficult to get right.

Who we are

We are still at the beginning of our journey. Vega was founded by Alexis Augier, a former investor at Elliott and KKR, and built by talent from the world’s leading technology and financial services firms - including Trade Republic, Revolut, Goldman Sachs, BCG, and more. We have raised $30M so far, with the backing of Apollo (who were a client before becoming an investor), Motive Partners, and 60+ senior executives from the industry. Today, we have over $300B AUM and 30,000 users on the platform, and we have much more left to do.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

How we do it

Vega is a fast-growing startup. We want to make this a career-accelerating place for people with the ambition to build something big. If the below sounds appealing, it could be for you:

  • We do not seek consensus. You will be expected to voice opinions and take initiative. Vega's best people do not wait to be told what to do before finding solutions to problems they have spotted.
  • We believe bureaucracy is the killer of progress. We are focused on creating the minimum viable process to operate with quality at speed.
  • We prioritise talent over tenure. There is no promise of progression without performance – we assess and reward people on impact above all else.
  • We iterate fast. We make decisions amid ambiguity and with imperfect information, and we strive to balance committing to a hypothesis with iterating at low ego.
  • We play to win. Expectations, intensity and ambition are very high, with every single colleague contributing to Vega's success. This often will not be a 9-5.

We know that this culture won’t be for everyone, and we endeavour to make this clear from the beginning of the recruiting process out of respect for your time. Ask yourself whether the above sounds exciting to you in practice every day, and if it does, we would love to hear from you.

Who succeeds in this role

We look for people who match our ambition levels, and then raise it further.

In this role, you will:

  • Context-switch across strategy, go-to-market, operations, external comms, special projects, and investor relations
  • Be handed projects from Day 1, including representing Vega externally
  • Sit in the CEO Office, reporting directly to the Head of Strategy & Growth
  • Work closely with the Product & Growth and Engineering teams - strategy is not a silo at Vega

What we look for:

Required:

  • 1-3 years of experience in MBB or finance/investing at a Tier 1 institution.

Whilst stellar training is essential, this is not all that we look for and not everyone with a background in MBB/investing will do well. This role is for people who have high standards of excellence for themselves, along with the risk tolerance and ambition to go beyond the comfort zone and structure of a larger institution.

  • Low ego, and a willingness to get stuck in; this role will allow you to do career-accelerating things that you might otherwise wait decades to do - but there will also be gruntwork. Everyone at Vega, including leadership, handles both.
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills. You will need to think and explain complex concepts and communicate them internally and externally with different audiences.

Why join us?

  • Get a first-hand view, and real ownership of, everything that it takes to operate a fast-growing business
  • You will help define the transformation of one of the most influential industries of our time with AI, working alongside an ambitious and dedicated team
  • Competitive salary and equity package
  • Benefits including medical insurance, gym membership, learning budget, and more
