Strategy & Operations Executive

K3 Advisory Group is a UK professional services group, with around 1,200 colleagues bringing together specialist advisory expertise across the full business and investment lifecycle. We are private equity backed and continue to grow through acquisition.

Technology, data and AI sit at the centre of the Group’s plans, with in-house development capability in the UK and Kuala Lumpur.

The Strategy & Operations Executive will directly support the Group CIO, at the moment we are building AI into how the business runs. You will get hands-on exposure to our strategy in this space, work closely with senior leaders across the Group and be trusted to keep things moving across the technology function.

This is a role for someone who wants to learn fast, move at pace and use AI every day to get more done.

Purpose of the Role

To give the Group CIO the capacity to spend more time with the businesses and on the Group’s strategic needs. You will run the CIO’s operating rhythm, keep work moving across the technology leadership team and act on the CIO’s behalf on agreed matters, so that decisions get made and actions get closed.

What You Will Do

Keep the technology function moving

  • Track actions and commitments across the technology leads, chase them to closure and escalate only what genuinely needs the CIO.
  • Maintain the CIO’s portfolio view and status reporting, so the current position on every initiative is available without a meeting.
  • Spot when something is slipping and raise it early, with a view on what would get it back on track.

Run the leadership rhythm

  • Own the cadence of CIO reviews, leadership meetings and portfolio check-ins: agendas, papers, minutes and actions.
  • Make sure every meeting has a clear purpose, the right inputs and a record of what was decided.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Shape the story

  • Prepare and gather inputs, control versions and draft the narrative for CIO sign-off.
  • Produce first drafts of papers, briefings and summaries that the CIO can finish quickly.

Connect with the businesses

  • Be an additional and highly visible point of contact to the CIO for divisional leaders and the Group’s AI Adoption Partners, routing requests and lining up the CIO’s time with the businesses.
  • Follow through on commitments made in those conversations so the businesses see things happen.
  • Talk with colleagues about how AI can help their work, sharing practical examples and supporting the AI Adoption Partners as they bring new tools into the businesses.

Keep the CIO’s office running

  • Manage the CIO’s diary and inbox: prioritise, triage, draft responses and protect time for the businesses and priority builds.
  • Handle supplier, contract, purchase order and invoice administration across the technology budget.
  • Organise travel and logistics, including coordination with the Kuala Lumpur team across time zones.
  • Use AI to run the office efficiently: drafting, summarising, analysing and building reusable prompts, projects and skills that save time for the CIO and the wider team.

We are upfront that diary, inbox, supplier and travel work is a real part of the job. They are also what gives you the full picture of how the function works.

Scope of Authority

You will act on the CIO’s behalf for scheduling, follow-up and information requests, and can agree deadlines and next steps with the technology leads on matters the CIO has delegated. Decisions on priorities, people and spend stay with the CIO, and any financial approvals follow Group policy and delegated limits.

What This Role Is Not

You will not manage the technology leads, own delivery or make technical decisions. You hold the rhythm and the follow-through; the technology leads deliver.

Essential

About you

  • Hungry to learn and comfortable moving at pace. Your background might be in consulting, business management, executive support or a fast-growing business.
  • Highly organised, with a track record of keeping several moving parts on time without being chased.
  • Confident with senior people: you can chase a director without friction and hold your ground politely.
  • Strong written English; you can turn rough inputs into a clear paper or summary.
  • Enough technical curiosity to follow a delivery conversation and ask the right question. You do not need to be a technologist.
  • Strong, practical AI skills: you use it every day to draft, summarise and analyse, and you can show examples of how it has made your work faster or better.
  • Able to talk credibly about the benefits of AI in a business setting, with enough knowledge to explain what it does well, where it falls short and how people can get started.
  • Discreet with confidential client, deal and people information.

Desirable

Experience in professional services, private equity-backed businesses or a technology function.

What You Will Get

  • Working day to day with the Group CIO and senior leaders across the businesses.
  • A front-row seat on live AI and data builds in a group investing heavily in both.
  • Real responsibility from day one, and the chance to deepen your AI skills in a group that is using AI across its businesses.
  • Hybrid working within a growing, ambitious group.
