Job Purpose
Lead the AFEMEA Business Group's strategy and transformation agenda, helping the business achieve sustainable growth, stronger performance and long-term value creation.
You will work closely with the AFEMEA Leadership Team to define strategic priorities, identify growth opportunities and drive major transformation initiatives. You will ensure that strategy is translated into clear actions, accountability and measurable results across the business.
You will also establish best practices for strategic planning, transformation management and strategic execution, bringing structure and discipline to complex business challenges.

Amcor Flexibles Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (AFEMEAI)
- €3.6 billion sales
- 70 manufacturing sites across 20 countries
- 1 direct report

Key Responsibilities
Strategy Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the AFEMEA strategy.
- Manage the annual strategic planning process and longer-term strategic roadmap.
- Partner with BU leaders to identify and prioritise growth opportunities and investment priorities.
- Develop fact-based recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Challenge existing assumptions and explore alternative strategic options.
- Bring external market, customer, technology and competitive insights into strategic discussions.
- Define strategic priorities, success measures and implementation plans.
- Establish governance and reporting processes for the strategic portfolio.

Transformation Leadership
- Lead the AFEMEA transformation agenda.
- Maintain an integrated view of all major strategic and transformation initiatives.
- Ensure transformation programmes are aligned with strategic priorities.
- Identify risks, dependencies, overlaps and opportunities across initiatives.
- Drive alignment, accountability and execution across the BUs and Functions.
- Ensure transformation efforts deliver measurable business outcomes.
Strategy & PMO Excellence
- Build and maintain best practices for strategy development and transformation portfolio management.
- Create consistent approaches for strategic analysis, business cases, scenario planning and prioritisation.
- Introduce relevant external benchmarks and leading practices.
- Manage the strategy function budget and resource allocation.
- Track progress against strategic objectives and milestones.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks and key decisions required.
Mergers & Acquisitions
- Support the evaluation of acquisition and partnership opportunities.
- Assess strategic fit and value creation potential.
- Ensure inorganic growth opportunities align with AFEMEA's strategic priorities.

Experience & Qualifications
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience in strategy, transformation or corporate development.
- Strong background in strategy consulting, ideally with a leading consulting firm.
- Proven experience leading complex, high-impact strategic or transformation programmes.
- Experience in multi-country manufacturing, industrial, FMCG or related sectors.
- Experience working directly with senior executives.
Preferred
- Experience in an operating role within an industrial or manufacturing business.
- MBA or equivalent advanced qualification.
Skills & Capabilities

- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
- Hands-on experience of Transformation initiatives from development to implementation
- Experience in growth strategy, portfolio assessment and business case development.
- The ability to turn complex data and insights into clear recommendations and action plans.
- Outstanding communication and storytelling skills.
- Strong programme and portfolio management capabilities.
- Experience establishing governance, milestones, reporting and performance tracking.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to bring structure to ambiguity.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- The credibility and maturity to partner effectively with senior leaders.
- Resilience, ownership and a results-focused mindset.
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
