How You'll Make a Difference
As part of a vital front-line team, you will help make South Gloucestershire a nicer place to live and work. Carrying out street cleansing duties, you will be responsible for collecting litter, clearing spaces of land and removing bulky waste. Working outside in all weathers on verges, footpaths, roadways and other outdoor environments, you will assist in the removal of waste, control weed growth and remove graffiti.
What You Will Be Doing

- Working outside in all weathers on verges, footpaths, roadways and other outdoor environments, you will assist in the removal of waste, control weed growth and remove graffiti.
- You may be working on high-speed roads and occasionally working in unpleasant and hazardous environments.
- To ensure your health and safety, you will adhere to strict guidelines complying with all appropriate legislation, including instructions relating to waste disposal in force at that time.
- Depending on duties, weekend and night-time work may be involved, for which the appropriate enhancement will be paid.

What We Need From You
- You must have a full driving licence to at least category B for manual transmission vehicles and you will need to be competent to drive vehicles up to maximum 3500kg MAM.
- Given the elements of the role, you need to be physically fit and able to work outdoors in weather through the year - this job involves extensive walking and frequent manual handling tasks.
- You will have the ability to read and follow written works instructions, read maps and complete paper records.
