Are you highly organised, customer-focused, and passionate about supporting frontline environmental services? We're looking for a Street Cleansing Technical Officer to join our Environment, Civic Pride & Climate team and play a vital role in supporting the delivery of street cleansing services across the borough.
About The Role
As a Street Cleansing Technical Officer, you will provide comprehensive administrative and technical support to the Street Cleansing Team, helping to ensure services run efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for managing enquiries, maintaining systems and records, supporting service performance, and acting as a key point of contact for staff, residents, councillors, and stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Manage and respond to service enquiries from residents, councillors, and stakeholders within agreed timescales
- Deliver professional front-of-house support and customer service
- Administer and maintain street cleansing systems, databases, and software platforms
- Manage multiple inboxes, triaging requests and directing work appropriately
- Prepare agendas, coordinate meetings, and produce accurate minutes
- Support managers with diary management and other administrative functions
- Maintain SharePoint and Teams sites, ensuring information and documentation remain up to date
- Raise purchase orders, invoices, and credit notes, and maintain financial records
- Support projects, performance reporting, and service improvement initiatives
- Ensure health and safety records, notices, and documentation are maintained and compliant

We’re Looking For Someone With
- Experience providing administrative support within a street cleansing, waste, environmental, or operational service
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Experience working with databases and management systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, residents, contractors, and stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Ability to work independently and use initiative while supporting a wider team
- Understanding of waste and street cleansing operations and relevant legislation would be advantageous
