Street Lighting Supervisor

Department: Operations

Location: Garman Road - Tottenham

Description

Here at Marlborough Highways we are looking for an experienced Street Lighting Supervisor to lead our highways electrical division on our long-term maintenance contract with the London Borough of Haringey. You will lead operational teams and subcontractors, ensuring street lighting maintenance and capital works are delivered safely, on time, and to high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational oversight: Supervise day-to-day maintenance, structural & electrical testing and installation of street lighting columns, lanterns, and illuminated signs.
  • Safety management: Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across all live operational sites.
  • Contract delivery: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure work meets the requirements of the Haringey council contract.
  • Site inspections: Conduct regular site checks, quality audits, and risk assessments to guarantee work complies with specifications.
  • Resource coordination: Allocate plant, materials, and labour efficiently to maximize daily productivity.
  • Client relations: Work closely with Marlborough project managers and Haringey council engineers to update them on job progress.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Qualifications: Must possess valid G39 certification, SMSTS, and a current ECS card.
  • Experience: Strong supervisory background in highways electrical or street lighting sectors, preferably working for a principal tier 1 or tier 2 contractor.
  • Traffic management: Good working knowledge of Chapter 8 traffic management regulations for urban street works.
  • Driving licence: Full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
  • Skills: Strong leadership capabilities, problem-solving skills, and comfort using digital handheld devices to log and close jobs using Confirm and Exedra.
