Job Description: Street Patrol Community Safety Officer (Cover / Standby Work)

My Local Bobby LTD

Location: Ipswich

Job Type: Flexible Cover / Standby Contract

Hours: 16 hours per week (Wednesday & Thursday) with additional cover shifts available

Pay: £13.00 per hour (Enhanced rate of £14.00 per hour for last-minute cover shifts)

What You'll Do

As a Community Safety Officer, you will:

  • Be a visible, trusted presence within the local community
  • Build relationships with residents and local stakeholders to tackle anti-social behaviour and safety concerns
  • Respond to incidents when required and liaise with police or other partners
  • Gather community intelligence and provide reassurance to members of the public
  • Support the community through engagement, empathy, and problem-solving

About You

  • A confident communicator with a genuine interest in public service
  • Reliable, proactive, and professional in your conduct
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Calm under pressure and committed to keeping communities safe
  • Flexible and willing to assist with additional cover shifts when required

Requirements

  • Valid SIA Frontline Licence
  • First Aid Certification
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a security-related role (preferred)

Desirable

  • Full UK Driving License
  • First Aid Certification
