MIDWEIGHT FASHION STREETWEAR DESIGNER
Menswear & Womenswear | Manchester | up to £40,000
Full-time · Studio-based · Manchester, UK
THE ROLE
We’re working with a fast-growing Manchester-based streetwear and lifestyle brand known for its bold creative direction, heavyweight apparel and collaborations with artists.
As the brand continues to grow, they’re looking for an experienced Midweight Fashion Designer to join their creative team and play a key role in developing menswear and womenswear collections from concept through to final product.
This is a hands-on design role for someone who understands streetwear, graphics, garment construction and commercial product, and who can confidently turn an idea into a compelling, production-ready collection.
You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work closely with the wider product team and contribute to the evolution of an ambitious and creatively driven brand.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Develop menswear and womenswear collections from initial concept through to final product.
- Create original apparel and graphic concepts that feel relevant to the brand and wider streetwear culture.
- Develop mood boards, creative concepts, colour palettes, sketches, CADs and technical drawings.
- Research fashion, streetwear, art, culture and emerging trends to inform new collections and product direction.
- Translate creative ideas into commercially relevant product ranges with a strong understanding of the customer.
- Work across garment design, graphics, placement prints and product detailing.
- Develop and refine fits, silhouettes, fabrics, trims, washes and construction details.
- Create clear and accurate technical packs and communicate design intent to manufacturers and suppliers.
- Work closely with buyers, merchandisers, pattern cutters, suppliers and manufacturers throughout the product development process.
- Attend fittings and sampling sessions, making informed amendments to achieve the desired fit, finish and overall aesthetic.
- Take ownership of your designs from initial research and concept development through to production.
- Contribute creatively to seasonal collection direction and the continued development of the brand.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
