Compensation: £28,000 - £30,000 / year
Description
The Streetworks Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the timely and compliant submission of Streetworks notices, permits, and traffic management applications in accordance with NRSWA legislation, local authority permit schemes, and contractual requirements. The role supports operational delivery by liaising with internal teams, local authorities, and stakeholders to ensure all works are correctly noticed, permitted, and completed within agreed timescales.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple workstreams within a fast-paced utility environment.
Key Responsibilities
Streetworks Notices & Permits
- Submit Streetworks notices and permit applications through Confirm in line with NRSWA and local authority requirements.
- Ensure all notices are raised accurately and within statutory timescales to maintain compliance.
- Process permit variations, extensions, and closures as required throughout the lifecycle of works.
- Monitor outstanding notices and permits, ensuring actions are completed within service level agreements.
Operational Coordination
- Record actual work start dates received from field teams, ensuring all information is accurately submitted to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Liaise with operational teams to obtain updates on work progress, delays, and completion details.
- Attend planning and scheduling meetings to ensure upcoming works are appropriately noticed and permitted.
- Support field operations by providing guidance on permit conditions, restrictions, and compliance requirements.

Highway Authority & Stakeholder Management
- Manage and respond to comments, challenges, and requests received from Highway Authorities in a timely and professional manner.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with Highway Authorities, internal stakeholders, and operational teams.
- Escalate potential compliance risks, permit issues, or planning constraints to management where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with planners, supervisors, and delivery teams to minimise permit breaches and overrun charges.
Traffic Management & Compliance
- Prepare and submit Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTROs) within agreed SLA timescales.
- Monitor and track TTRO applications through to approval.
- Ensure all activities comply with NRSWA legislation, permit scheme regulations, and client requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and audit trails within company systems.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Support the achievement of business KPIs relating to permit compliance and operational performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance service delivery.
- Produce reports and management information as required.
- Contribute to a culture of compliance, accountability, and operational excellence.

Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Previous experience in a Streetworks, Permit, or Coordination role.
- Working knowledge of NRSWA legislation and permit schemes.
- Experience using Confirm or similar Streetworks management systems.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Desirable
- Experience within utilities, telecoms, highways, or infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge of TTRO application processes.
- Understanding of Street Manager.
- NRSWA qualification.
