The Role:

As a Street Works Officer, you can make your own powerful contribution to people across Westminster. Joining the Council’s vital and high-profile Highways Services, you’ll be responsible for delivering the permitting of works on the Highway — including issuing licenses, permits, Temporary Traffic Orders and Crane Licenses.

Your day-to-day will be varied and dynamic, and you’ll work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, monitoring and challenging quality standards with the aim of minimising complaints and maximising efficiency. A source of expert advice and guidance on network management, works co-ordination and legislative compliance, you’ll ensure that on-street staff are effectively tasked to maximise compliance and minimise risk.

About You:

An established professional with experience in street works or Highways Network Management, you’ll have dealt with Traffic Management and ETON complaint software systems in a previous role. Bringing knowledge of Highways Legislation, you’ll have the ability to understand reasons for technical failures in the highway structure. An analytical thinker capable of identifying improvement opportunities, you’ll work proactively to identify and mitigate risks wherever they arise.
