Mobile Streetworks Technician

We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Streetworks Technician covering the Peterborough post code area

Job reference number 341489

Salary - £30,610.65 per annum, 22.5 days annual leave, rising to 25 after 5 years’ service plus bank holidays

Contract: Fixed Term 12 months, Full time 37.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks) - typical attendance will be 07:00 until 15:00 Monday to Friday however, flexibility is essential.

The Role

The role of the Streetworks Technician will be to paint, maintain and install Royal Mail Street Furniture; including post boxes, trucks and trolleys and sorting fittings. You will be working independently or as a member of a team, undertaking work of a technical nature. This position will cover several areas within a specified Postcode region.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Working under guidance of the Streetworks Supervisor as a part of a team providing assistance to skilled staff in the maintenance and repair of street furniture
  • Corrective and preventative maintenance of pillar boxes and wheeled equipment.
  • General maintenance on street furniture, trucks and trolleys
  • Completion of a painting programme to deliver KPI’s on post boxes
  • Working independently (or as a part of a team), planning and performing work following schedules, diagrams or drawings
  • Working in a structured and tidy manner, observing all relevant health and safety legislation and RMPFS operating procedures and standards
  • Liaise with customers and public in a professional fashion in order to project a positive company image.

About You

You will use basic hand tools and power tools and have previous experience of working in a similar role would be desirable

  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Ideally hold a Streetworks licence, this is desirable and not essential
  • Basic PC literacy
  • Methodical in approach to work
  • Strong awareness of Health and Safety

A Full UK manual driving licence will be required for this role with flexibility to travel around specific postcode regions.
