Role Description

This volunteer part-time, on-site Strength and Conditioning Coach role is based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The coach will deliver strength and conditioning programs tailored to athletes of varying ages, sports, and performance levels, ensuring sessions are safe, effective, and engaging.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting / leading (experience dependent) group training sessions
  • Monitoring progress
  • Adjusting programs according to performance data
  • Collaborating with other sports coaches to support athlete development and injury prevention

The role also involves:

  • Educating athletes on proper lifting techniques, recovery strategies, and healthy lifestyle habits
  • Maintaining training spaces and equipment to professional standards
  • Contributing to the academy’s Total Athlete Development philosophy, supporting both physical and character development

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Sports Science, including knowledge of exercise physiology and biomechanics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Strength & Conditioning and Strength Training for a range of sports and age groups.
  • Skills in Injury Prevention, including movement screening, load management, and safe coaching practices.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. UKSCA or equivalent) / degree in Sports Science or related field preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, motivate diverse athletes, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills, professionalism, and commitment to inclusive coaching and safeguarding standards.
