Scope
Support the development of aircraft landing gear systems through static stress, fatigue and finite element analysis (FEA), ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements and qualification requirements.
Role
Deliver structural analysis to support the design, development and validation of landing gear systems. Work with engineering teams and external stakeholders to assess structural performance, resolve technical issues and recommend improvements to designs and analysis methods.
Responsibilities
- Perform classical static stress and fatigue analysis on landing gear structures and components.
- Use recognised FEA tools, such as ABAQUS, to assess structural performance.
- Collaborate with Chief Engineers, Programmes, Test Engineering, Manufacturing and other business functions.
- Participate in audit reviews and prepare and present technical information.
- Support product validation activities.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, airframers, regulatory bodies and other industrial organisations.
- Identify analysis solutions, recommend improvements and propose alternative methods.
- Review engineering drawings, designs, concessions and repairs, communicating findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations and qualification requirements.

Required Experience
- Experience using static and fatigue structural analysis methods.
- Experience with recognised FEA and fatigue analysis software.
- Good working knowledge of aerospace design and manufacturing processes.
- Experience applying aerospace material engineering properties within structural analysis.
- Experience working to regulatory requirements.
- Experience within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment.
- Landing gear experience is desirable.
- Experience across different engineering functions is desirable.
