About OES Consulting

OES Consulting is a civil and structural engineering consultancy delivering practical, cost-effective and buildable solutions across the UK. We work with developers, contractors, architects and private clients on projects ranging from residential schemes to multi-million-pound developments.

Our services include civil and structural design, structural surveys, drainage and earthworks, SuDS, flood risk assessments, highways and external works. We pride ourselves on strong technical expertise, a straightforward approach and long-term client relationships.

The Role

We are looking for a Structural Design Engineer to join our growing team in Birmingham. This is a full-time role, office-based, working across a varied portfolio of projects from concept through to construction.

  • Undertake structural analysis and design
  • Prepare calculations, drawings and specifications
  • Develop practical solutions for elements including foundations, retaining structures, basements and roofs
  • Work with engineers, architects, contractors and clients to ensure designs are coordinated, compliant and buildable

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Strong structural design and analysis skills across a range of materials and building types
  • Experience using AutoCAD for structural detailing
  • Good understanding of UK Building Regulations, Eurocodes and/or British Standards
  • Ability to interpret drawings, surveys and technical information
  • Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills
  • Civil engineering experience, including drainage, earthworks or external works, would be advantageous
  • Progress towards IEng or CEng status would be beneficial
