Structural Detailer
Location: South Yorkshire
Employment: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 DOE
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Structural Detailer to join an established structural steel fabrication business based in Wombwell, Barnsley.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of technically challenging and high-profile steelwork projects, including bridges, architectural steelwork, and complex structural installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate 3D models using Tekla Structures
- Prepare fabrication, construction, and erection drawings
- Develop complete fabrication packages, including material lists and NC data
- Interpret structural and architectural drawings and specifications
- Liaise with engineers, clients, and project teams to resolve technical queries
- Ensure drawings and models are accurate and delivered to programme
- Identify design changes and potential variations

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Structural Steel or Tekla Detailer
- Strong practical experience with Tekla Structures
- Good understanding of structural steel fabrication and manufacturing
- Ability to interpret engineering and architectural drawings
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Experience working on bridges, AESS, complex steel structures, or specialist fabrication projects would be highly advantageous.
