Inglesiade Engineering Ltd is a UK-based engineering consultancy that delivers practical, technically robust solutions across structural, mechanical, and lifting disciplines. The team supports clients throughout the full project lifecycle, from early concept and feasibility through detailed design, construction planning, and project delivery. Services include structural engineering design, crane lift plans, temporary works design, constructability and engineering design reviews, and advanced 2D/3D digital modelling. Ingleside Engineering works with contractors, developers, manufacturers, and infrastructure clients in commercial and industrial sectors. The company focuses on precise engineering, practical solutions, and projects delivered right first time.

Role Description

The Structural Drafter role is a full-time, on-site position based in Port Talbot. The Structural Drafter will produce accurate structural drawings, including shop drawings and detailed plans, in line with project specifications and industry standards. Daily responsibilities include:

The role involves managing drawing revisions, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, and maintaining clear documentation for construction and fabrication. The Structural Drafter will contribute to constructability reviews and support the delivery of safe, efficient, and buildable engineering solutions.

Qualifications

  • Ability to produce precise shop drawings and technical drawings for structural and architectural components.
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and their application in drafting and design.
  • Proficiency in Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools and workflows for 2D/3D digital modelling Tekla Experience.
  • Experience interpreting architectural drawings and translating engineer and designer input into clear construction documents.
  • Relevant technical qualification or degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, drafting, or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard CAD and BIM software (e.g., Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent).
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple drawing packages and revisions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with engineers, designers, and site teams.
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations and applicable design standards is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in structural drafting for commercial or industrial projects is beneficial.
