Structural Engineer – Building Defects | South East
£50,000 – £70,000 DOE + performance bonus + excellent benefits
Home-based | Monday to Friday
Match Recruitment is working with a specialist building consultancy in the insurance sector to appoint a Structural Engineer covering the South East and surrounding counties. The business is growing on the back of new client wins and needs an experienced engineer who enjoys getting to the root cause of structural problems, in a home-based role with plenty of variety.
What you'll be doing
- Inspecting buildings and structures of all types and investigating the causes of structural movement and damage
- Completing your reports digitally on site, using iPad-based tools
- Taking building measurements and setting out baseline repair recommendations
- Managing your own workload and giving progress updates as needed
- Delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service in line with client SLAs and KPIs
- Sharing knowledge and contributing to a supportive regional team

What you'll bring
- Several years' post-graduate experience inspecting and reporting on structural defects (essential)
- Strong knowledge of structural damage and of traditional and non-traditional construction
- A degree in civil/structural engineering or building surveying, or working towards one
- MIStructE, MICE, MRICS or C.Build E would be an advantage, but isn't essential
- Experience with historic buildings or buildings insurance claims is a plus
- Clear, confident communication, strong IT skills, and the ability to work well on your own and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
