Structural Engineer
Altrad Integrity Services are currently looking to recruit a Structural Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to support the design, development and delivery of structural engineering projects across the energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors.
The successful candidate will provide structural engineering expertise across a range of projects, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and operational teams to develop safe, practical and cost-effective solutions. You will contribute to the successful delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and technical excellence.
Key Deliverables
- Support the design, development and delivery of structural engineering projects from concept through to completion.
- Undertake structural engineering analysis, calculations and assessments to develop safe, practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Provide technical structural engineering support to project and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, specifications, proposals and engineering documentation.
- Ensure structural engineering designs comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, client specifications and company procedures.
- Support technical investigations and research to resolve engineering challenges and improve engineering processes.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support Project Engineers and Project Managers with project scope, deliverables, programme and technical requirements.
- Contribute to technical quality assurance activities, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Manufacturing Record Book (MRB) reviews and vendor assessments where required.
- Support the development, implementation and continual improvement of engineering standards, procedures and best practices.
- Review discipline-specific calculations, work instructions and method statements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
- Support Business Development activities, including technical input to proposals, tenders and client discussions.
- Participate in project close-out and lessons learned activities, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure structural engineering deliverables are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Maintain accurate engineering records and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide structural engineering support during internal and external audits.
- Keep up to date with developments in legislation, engineering standards and industry best practice, advising the wider team where relevant.
- Promote a positive Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) culture through compliance with safe systems of work and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline. A Master's degree would be desirable.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng), or actively working towards professional registration with the Engineering Council.
- Relevant experience delivering structural engineering projects within the energy, industrial or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge of structural engineering principles, design codes, standards and industry best practice.
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through to completion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical engineering solutions.
- Experience producing and reviewing engineering calculations, technical reports and engineering documentation.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
- Proficiency with relevant structural engineering software and design tools.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
Desirable
- Offshore Medical.
- BOSIET with CA-EBS.
- MIST certification.
- Experience supporting offshore energy or industrial infrastructure projects.
- Experience participating in vendor quality assurance activities and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
