Structural Design Engineer
Location: Worcester Park, Surrey
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £32,000 – £38,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Structural Design Bureau Ltd (SDB) is a growing consulting structural engineering practice based in Worcester Park, Surrey. We provide structural engineering design and detailing services across a diverse range of sectors including Aviation, Residential, Commercial, and Industrial developments.
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Structural Design Engineer to join our expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their technical skills, gain valuable project experience, and work towards professional qualifications within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role
As a Structural Design Engineer, you will be involved in projects from concept through to completion, undertaking structural analysis, design, and drawing production while working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and fellow consultants.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare schematic and concept structural designs.
- Carry out structural analysis and design calculations using industry-standard software and hand calculations where required.
- Produce and review structural drawings using AutoCAD.
- Coordinate designs with architects, contractors, and other design team members.
- Attend client and design team meetings.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and correspondence.
- Assist in the design and delivery of a wide variety of building structures.
- Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed project timescales.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- MEng or BEng degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 2–3 years' UK experience in building structures design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Experience using Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis software.
- Good report writing and communication skills.
- Knowledge of structural design software packages.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:
- Experience using Autodesk Revit.
- Progress towards professional membership with the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
