Structural Engineer (min. 3 Years' Experience)

Location: Marshfield (Hybrid / Flexible Working Available)

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and talented Structural Engineer with minimum 3 years of post-graduate experience to join our growing engineering consultancy. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of residential, commercial, industrial, and refurbishment projects across the UK.

You will be involved in projects from initial concept through to detailed design and construction, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and fellow engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce structural designs and calculations for a variety of building projects.
  • Design in steel, reinforced concrete, timber, and masonry.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and structural assessments.
  • Carry out site inspections and structural surveys.
  • Liaise directly with clients, architects, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Assist with project management and delivery to programme and budget.
  • Contribute to innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
  • Support junior engineers and technicians where appropriate.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant structural engineering experience.
  • Experience designing building structures using common construction materials.
  • Familiarity with UK design standards (Eurocodes) and Building Regulations.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software. Preferably using Tekla Structural Designer, Masterseries.
  • Experience with using Autocad and Revit.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Clean and full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status (IStructE or ICE).
  • Experience designing simple drainage schemes.
  • Experience carrying out structural surveys and preparing reports.
  • Knowledge of temporary works design.
  • Keen grasp on project and business financial targets.
