• Manage and contribute to a varied workload of structural engineering projects from initial client brief through to completion.
• Undertake site inspections and structural investigations, identifying defects, movement, deterioration and other structural issues.
• Prepare clear, accurate and well-presented structural reports, calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
• Develop structural designs and engineering solutions appropriate to the project requirements, existing building and client brief.
• Undertake structural calculations and assessments for a range of building structures and materials.
• Assist with the preparation of specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation where required.
• Provide practical engineering advice to clients and other project stakeholders.
• Liaise with architects, contractors, surveyors, project managers and other consultants to ensure coordinated project delivery.
• Attend project and client meetings, providing technical input and maintaining clear communication throughout the project.
• Support the delivery of projects to agreed timescales, budgets and professional standards.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a capable and motivated Structural Engineer who enjoys working on a varied range of projects and taking responsibility for delivering high-quality technical work. The role would suit someone who is looking to develop their experience within a growing consultancy and who wants exposure to both the technical and commercial aspects of structural engineering.

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Chartered or working towards Chartered status with an appropriate professional institution would be advantageous.
• Relevant experience in structural engineering, ideally within a consultancy environment.
• Good technical knowledge of structural design, assessment and investigation across a range of building types.
• Experience with structural calculations and design using appropriate engineering principles and software.
• Confident carrying out site inspections, assessing structural issues and producing clear and practical technical reports.
• Good understanding of construction methods, materials and building structures.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and client relationship skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
