Company Description

CWT has been Established since 1995, the practice focuses on delivering efficient, economical, and professional solutions across a wide range of building structures and civil engineering works and is known for offering clear, honest, and straightforward structural consultancy advice.

Role Description

Due to a significant increase in workload we are looking for a passionate, experienced, and qualified Structural Engineer to be based in our Rochford office.

Responsibilities

  • Performing structural analysis and calculations for a variety of building and civil engineering projects
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements
  • Developing and reviewing structural designs
  • Producing and updating drawings and models using CAD software
  • Preparing technical reports, specifications, and documentation
  • Collaborating with other engineers, technicians, architects, and external stakeholders to resolve design challenges, identify potential risks, and propose practical solutions
  • Conducting site visits, inspections, and assessments
  • Contributing to quality assurance and continuous improvement of design and management procedures

  • Strong proficiency in Structural Engineering and Structural Analysis, with the ability to perform accurate and reliable calculations
  • Knowledge and practical experience in Civil Engineering for building structures and related civil works
  • Relevant engineering degree (e.g., Civil or Structural Engineering) MEng / BEng / BSc etc and working toward or membership of a professional institution (such as IStructE or ICE) is beneficial
  • Ability to interpret design codes and standards, and apply them to practical project solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Good communication skills for preparing clear technical documentation and liaising with clients and design team members
  • Experience in UK-based structural engineering projects and familiarity with local regulations is advantageous
  • UK residents only, UK driving licence
  • Priority will be given to local candidates
