Structural Engineer

An excellent career opportunity has arisen for a Structural Engineer with at least 3 years of buildings design experience to join the Birmingham office of this well-respected firm of consulting engineers.
Their name is synonymous with engineering excellence in the industry and they have won numerous awards for their work.
They pride themselves on their long-serving staff and are a people-focused practice.
You would be working on a variety of exciting and interesting buildings projects, ranging from small specialist works up to £90m housing developments. The firm are also heavily involved in the design and checking of staging and temporary exhibition structures, including events and show work at the NEC, among others. This is interesting work, which involves plenty of site visits and the opportunity to be involved in varied and specialist schemes. Example of other work includes design of schools, hospitals, and offices.
Due to the nature of the exhibition and show work, travel will be heavily involved so a car driver and owner is essential.

This role and type of work would suit a problem-solving mind and requires a willingness to get your hands dirty in all aspects of structural design. Materials include steel, concrete, timber, masonry, and aluminium.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of buildings design experience
- Keen to attain Chartership
- Good communication skills
- Ability to attend site, design meetings, do hands-on design, and write reports
- Scia and Masterseries experience would be desirable
About the Firm:
- The firm has over 100 staff
- The Birmingham office is small and has just 3 staff currently, including an MIStructE qualified Partner, who will be a direct mentor
- ICE support is also available within the business
- You will be involved with other offices as well, with shared CPD sessions, socials, etc. and the team and office intends to grow further
