🏗️ Structural Engineer | Residential | Birmingham 🏗️
Join a growing design practice and help shape its structural engineering team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Structural Engineer to join a collaborative and growing architectural and design practice based in Birmingham.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in establishing and developing the structural engineering function within a collaborative team. You'll work closely with designers, clients and contractors from the conceptual design stage, helping to create practical, cost-effective structural solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.
The workload is predominantly residential, including bespoke homes, extensions and new builds, alongside a range of commercial projects. It's a varied, hands-on role with regular site visits, meaning no two days are the same.

The Role
- Produce structural calculations, reports and technical designs.
- Support projects from concept through to completion.
- Work closely with designers, clients and contractors to develop practical structural solutions.
- Carry out site visits and provide technical guidance throughout the build process.
- Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the structural engineering capability within the business.
What We're Looking For
- Ideally 5+ years' experience within Structural Engineering.
- Experience working on residential projects, including extensions, refurbishments and new builds.
- Commercial project experience would be advantageous.
- Chartered status is desirable but not essential.
- Degree qualified in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience using structural design software such as Tedds, Robot, STAAD, SAP2000 or similar.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, practical approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
