Structural Engineer
Location: London
About the Role:
We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join an established structural and civil engineering consultancy in London, working across a varied portfolio of building structures projects with excellent opportunities to take greater responsibility for project delivery.
As a Structural Engineer, you will be working across a mixture of new-build, refurbishment and alteration projects, including private residential developments, architecturally led schemes, commercial projects, and the refurbishment and recladding of existing buildings.
Within the role of a Structural Engineer, you will have the opportunity to take meaningful responsibility for projects from an early stage, including structural design and analysis, coordination with other members of the design team, attending meetings, and visiting sites as projects progress.
The position is ideally suited to an Engineer with between one and four years' post-graduate experience who is looking to develop their technical ability while gaining greater ownership of projects and broader client-facing experience.
Rather than working solely on individual elements of larger schemes, you will be encouraged to become involved throughout the project lifecycle and develop the confidence and technical ability required to manage increasingly complex projects independently.
About You:
Candidates should have between one and four years' post-graduate experience working within a UK structural engineering consultancy, with a good grounding in the design of building structures and a desire to take greater responsibility for project delivery.

The role requires someone who is technically capable but equally comfortable communicating with clients, architects, and other members of the design team. You should be keen to take ownership of your work and develop broader project experience alongside your technical engineering skills.
In addition to having a confident, commercial, and professional outlook, you should have:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Between one and four years' post-graduate UK structural engineering experience
- Experience working with steel, concrete, masonry, and timber materials
- Strength in working to British Standards, Eurocodes, and relevant design guidance
- Experience of new-build and existing structures
- Experience of residential, commercial, or refurbishment projects would be beneficial
- Confidence attending design team meetings and undertaking site visits
- A willingness to take ownership of projects and develop greater responsibility
- Strong analytical, communication, and technical design skills
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English

The company is an established structural and civil engineering consultancy working on projects throughout the UK and has built a strong portfolio across residential, commercial, education, refurbishment, and other building structures projects.
Their workload includes both new-build developments and the alteration, conversion, and refurbishment of existing structures, providing engineers with exposure to projects of varying size, complexity, and construction type.
